Open EV charging price API

JSON, no registration and no API key — stations, prices, history and the exchange electricity price

You can use ikrovimo-kaina.lt data in your own apps, research, journalism or fleet management systems. The API is free, needs no registration and no key, returns JSON and allows requests from the browser (CORS *). It is the same data the site shows: prices incl. VAT, refreshed every 6 hours, with charge point availability refreshed every 5 minutes.

Base URL: https://ikrovimo-kaina.lt/api/v1

Licence and the required attribution

The data comes from Via Lietuva and is distributed under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Every response carries an attribution block. If you display or redistribute the data you must credit the source, for example:

Data: Via Lietuva (ev.vialietuva.lt), CC BY 4.0; processed by ikrovimo-kaina.lt

Every station and network carries a url — a link to our page for it. Show that alongside the data. Tesla Supercharger data (source: "manual") is collected by hand from tesla.com, not from Via Lietuva, and its occupancy is unknown (evses_available: null).

Response format

{
  "data": …,
  "meta": { "updated_at": "2026-09-14T06:00:00+00:00", "count": 10, "total": 412, "next_cursor": "bzoxMA" },
  "attribution": { "text": "…", "license": "CC-BY-4.0", "license_url": "…", "source_url": "…" }
}
  • Units are named in the key: price_eur_kwh, max_power_kw, price_ct_kwh.
  • Charging prices include VAT (vat_included: true); the Nord Pool exchange price excludes it.
  • null means “no data”, never 0.
  • Dates and times are ISO 8601.
  • For the next page, pass meta.next_cursor as ?cursor=.
  • Errors: {"error": {"code": "invalid_parameter", "message": "…"}} with HTTP status 400, 404, 429 or 503.

Rate limits

  • 60 requests a minute per IP address.
  • /route: 10 a minute — routes are calculated by a shared OSRM server, so 503 is returned while it is briefly unavailable.
  • What is left is given in the X-RateLimit-Limit and X-RateLimit-Remaining headers; beyond the limit, 429 with Retry-After.
  • Responses are cacheable (Cache-Control, ETag): send If-None-Match to get a 304. There is no point requesting more often than every 5 minutes.

Stability promise

v1 fields and parameters are never removed or renamed. New fields may appear, so ignore unknown ones. Breaking changes would come only in a new version (/api/v2), with v1 running alongside it for a while.

MCP server for AI agents

The same data is available over MCP (Model Context Protocol), so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants can answer questions such as “where is charging cheapest in Kaunas?” with today’s prices and a link to the source. The server is free, keyless and read-only.

Address (Streamable HTTP): https://ikrovimo-kaina.lt/mcp

  • Tools: find_stations, cheapest_charging, operator_tariffs, charging_cost, price_changes, electricity_price.
  • In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the address. In ChatGPT and Cursor, add it as a remote MCP server.
  • Limit: 60 requests a minute per IP address. The licence and the attribution requirement are the same as for the API.
